Citizens Bank announces ATM expansion in Mid-Atlantic region
38 new in-store ATMs at Acme supermarkets make banking more convenient, especially in New Jersey PHILADELPHIA (July 9, 2008) - Citizens Bank announced today it is expanding its ATM network in the Mid-Atlantic region by installing 38 new ATMs during July and August in Acme stores. The expansion is part of Citizens Bank’s in-store partnership with Acme Markets, Inc., and will provide additional convenience for Acme shoppers and Citizens Bank customers, especially in New Jersey, where 33 new ATMs will be located.
“At Citizens Bank, we are committed to convenience and to providing our customers with the products and services that fit their banking and lifestyle needs,” said Daniel K. Fitzpatrick, Citizens Bank’s President and CEO for Eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. “Our partnership with Acme allows us to expand convenience for our customers who are traveling on the weekends and enjoying the Jersey shore and also makes it possible for Acme shoppers to have the added convenience of knowing they can find a Citizens Bank ATM in many more Acme stores across the greater Philadelphia region.”
The expansion is part of a long-term partnership created in 2004 between Citizens Bank and Acme. There are currently 45 Citizens Bank locations within Acme stores in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.
“We share with Citizens Bank a commitment to customer service and convenience so this expansion is a win-win for Acme shoppers,” said Acme Markets President Judy Spires. “More than ever, we can offer one-stop shopping for our customers, knowing that we’re teaming with the area’s leader in in-store banking.”
Citizens Bank has already begun installing the ATMs and plans to have the project complete by mid-August.
