Citizens Bank honors colleagues during 15th anniversary celebration of Colleague Appreciation Week

102 employees with 25 or more years of service honored with bricks to become a permanent part of One Citizens Plaza

Providence, R.I.       (June 6, 2008) - Citizens Bank is hosting its 15th annual Colleague Appreciation Week in New England from June 9 to 13, 2008. CAW is held at Citizens Bank each year to recognize the efforts of the more than 24,000 employees. CAW was celebrated last week in Citizens’ Mid-States Region. Rep. James Langevin, joined Citizens executives at Citizens’ 10th annual Brick Dedication

The week began with Citizens’ 10th annual Brick Dedication on Monday, June 9 at Citizens’ headquarters, One Citizens Plaza in Providence. This year, 102 colleagues and retirees with 25 or more years of service with the company have their names engraved on bricks in Citizens Plaza as a permanent part of the Citizens history.

“Colleague Appreciation Week recognizes the impact our colleagues have on the company, their colleagues and the community,” said Ellen Alemany, CEO of RBS Americas/Citizens Financial Group. “This is a special time to celebrate our colleagues for their hard work and dedication, and to recognize their significant contribution and value to the Citizens family.”

This year’s theme – “You Make It Happen Everyday! Teamwork. Recognition. Success.” is being complemented by a week full of teamwork-themed activities and events. Colleagues in Rhode Island will enjoy statewide events, such as an outing at Mulligan’s Island, miniature golf tournaments, games and theme days.

“Colleague Appreciation Week is a Citizens tradition that honors the people who make this a terrific company,” said Jim Connolly, President of Citizens Financial Group. “This week of activities gives colleagues the opportunity to have some fun as we take the time to appreciate our most valuable asset, our people.”
