The 2026 Citizens Miles That Matter Award honors five inspiring New Yorkers whose commitment to their communities reflects the spirit of the city. Representing each of the five boroughs, these honorees will direct a $20,000 grant from the Citizens Charitable Foundation to an Official NYRR Charity Partner of their choice — and take part in the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon as members of Team Citizens. Through our collaboration with New York Road Runners, a leading nonprofit dedicated to inspiring people and communities through running, Citizens helps champion athletes from greater NYC and around the globe.
